He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from Brown University, and his research on scalable machine learning algorithms has been published in machine learning conferences including NeurIPS, ICML and AISTATS.

Paul helped lead global digital expansion at The New York Times, and he has spent decades growing technology startups. As CEO of Gigaom, he grew revenue from $300k to $18 million. Prior, he founded WorldStreet, a SaaS CRM platform that Thomson Reuters acquired in 2002.
